Happy Halloween!

We're going to our ward's Trunk-or-Treat tonight. It'll be my first time to go to one. I'll post pictures later tonight...

But for now, here are some pictures for the fun of it.

Emily is looking out the back door window.

I bought Emily a toy for Christmas and I couldn't wait to put it together.

She loves her "Christmas present"!

Good morning, Sunshine!

Doin' the splits!

Picture Time!

Poor Emily has a stuffy nose. She hates the boogar snatcher! I hate having to use it on her. I have to sit on her to get access to her nose.

Emily is teething on whatever she can get her mouth on. Here she is chewing on a TV table.

It's hard to see, but she's got two teeth now.

Here is nakey baby at her six month appointment. She loves the table paper. She had it all shredded up by the time the doctor came in to see her. She weighs 15 1/2 pounds, is 26 inches long, and her head is 16 1/2 inches. She is basically in the 50th percentile across the board, so she is average. Average and WAY CUTE!

Emily likes to be scared by me. Rob will hold her and I'll jump at her from around the corner and she just belly laughs! She can do that for hours. Me, on the other hand, cannot.

This is Emily's friend David. He and his mom live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and they came and stayed with us for a day for the BabyFit weekend.

BabyFit Weekend

This weekend I got to meet a bunch of moms that I've been chatting with that I met in a pregnancy forum when I was pregnant with Emily. These moms all had due dates in April, so all our babies are the same age.

In the photo below: Front Row L-R: Emily (Me, TX), David (Erin, FL), Samantha (Joanne, NC), Kaydence (Lara, WA); Back Row L-R: Cherise (Toi, TX), Kayleigh (Dani, TX)
We became close and a few of us decided to meet in Dallas. We met at the Crowne Plaza on Friday and stayed up late in our PJs and talked and laughed. We went to the Dallas Zoo on Saturday and then to Collin Creek Mall for pictures.

On Sunday a couple of the moms went home (Joanne, Dani, and Toi) and the remaining moms (me, Lara, and Erin) sat around the hotel talking and laughing some more. Monday, Lara went home. I came home and brought Erin and her son with me. She took us out to dinner and then she flew home today.

Meanwhile, Emily cut another tooth and has gotten really good at pulling herself up to a stand. She doesn't fall as much now. But for sure, she was the loudest baby in the group this weekend. She cried almost every time I put her in her carseat and she made tons of noise when she played with the other babies. She would crawl over anyone or anything that got in her way and when she'd stop crawling, she'd sit and if there was a baby there, she'd just sit on the baby. It was funny.

Finally, a tooth!

Emily finally cut a tooth today. She's been pretty fussy lately, which has been challenging for me since I was dealing with mastitis this week. I thought I saw a tooth yesterday, but it ended up being a spit bubble. I felt her gums this afternoon at about 4 o'clock and I didn't feel anything. Then at 7:30 I felt her gums again because she was fussing and nothing I did consoled her and TA-DAAA...a teeny, tiny tip of a tooth.

I wanted to take a picture, but she was pretty upset and every time I'd take a look, she'd get madder--not that you could see anything.

She is climbing and pulling herself up on whatever she can. She's pulling herself up to a stand, but she doesn't stand for very long, if you know what I mean.

Cinderelllllllllaaaaaaa!

I figured it was time for Emily to earn her keep. The floor is a mess because of her anyway, so why not have her clean it?

"That's dope! Me an' my peeps are puttin' on our kicks an' goin' for a walk. Word."

Emily found the door stopper thingy. It goes "twaannnng" every time she hits it. So cute. That thing occupies her for about ten minutes. What are we buying her toys for?!?

Six Months Old

We go to the pediatrician for her six-month checkup next week. I'm excited to see how much she's grown. She is sitting up like a pro now and she's crawling like a mad woman! She loves everything we feed her (we'll see about that when I give her prunes!).

Our Walks

Emily and I went for a walk yesterday. It was a pretty morning; a little cool and sunshiney. I put Emily in her cute beanie and a hoodie and we took off on a walk that we mapped out on mapmyrun.com. We went a mile. I should have worn my sneakers instead of my slip-on sandals. We didn't walk very fast and my feet were hurting by the time we got home. All in all, it was a fun time. We saw trees and birds, some men taking stuff off a moving truck and we also saw some fun Halloween decorations. I'm looking forward to Trick-or-Treating with Emily. I get to show her off AND I get to eat the candy she gets!

This picture is from the walk we took with the Sparks family at the park the other day. The girls couldn't stop looking at each other. They are becoming good friends and they're playing well with each other. I was worried that Emily would just be a bawl baby every time Elizabeth came around, but she seems to be socializing well now.

"Dadadadada"

It may not officially mean "Daddy" but we're going to count it as her first word. Rob is proud that her first word is "Dada" but I'm sad that her first word wasn't "Momma". All those countless hours of saying "Momma" to her hoping that she would repeat it back to me... Well, it still sounds cute and it warms our hearts.

Our Little Cheerleader

We dressed Emily up as a cheerleader for the family gathering at Jason's. I made the poney tails out of yarn. She looks like a miniature 2-year-old! She made us all laugh because she looked so cute.

We ate enchiladas and fajitas at Jason's. They were very good! Posted by Picasa

So will she keep her blue eyes? Would they have changed by now? Posted by Picasa

If I had a nickel...

...for every time I said the word "cute", I'd be rich!

Here she is playing with the sunshine.

And here is her little moon.

Halloween

We're tring to decide what to dress Emily as for Halloween. Here are a few ideas:

Cute little bear or bug or something...

Silly girl with pants on her head...

A slug...
