Ugh!

When does this baby sleep???

It's now just after 8:30am and I've been awake since 1:30am and this baby has moved most of that time. I really, REALLY hope this isn't a sign of things to come. I'm tired.

Pity me...wah.

Silly Emily

Today Emily wanted to ride her bike. I didn't really feel like going outside, so I brought her "big bike" in the house for her to ride. Then I continued with cleaning the kitchen. She was happy for about two minutes, and then she started saying, "I cate bike now." Meaning, she can't ride her bike now. She's too smart for her own good. I swear. So, we went outside. She rode her bike for about ten minutes, pushed for five, and then the last seven minutes I carried her. And man, it was HOT out there! So we filled up the pool, put on her pink "schoop" and splashed until naptime.

This evening, she was watching "Signing Time" and it was showing the signs of moving your body, like marching, running, spinning. She kept telling me, "Wooka me, my feet!" and she would be doing the various signs from the TV show. Dang, she can be cute.

Oh, and she loves Scooby Doo. We bought some Scooby Doo fruit snacks and she calls them her "Dooby sacks," (Scooby snacks).

Earlier, she was playing with her toy train on the coffee table and she said, "Oh no! Choo choo upp-eye-down!" She had the train upside down. She righted it and said, "Train up now." I don't know where she gets half this stuff.

19 Weeks

Alright, there it is - my belly. It doesn't look like much, but really, I don't fit in most of my clothes. At this point, I'm in between maternity clothes and my regular clothes. It stinks. It makes me crabby.

Rob felt the baby move today! So special!

Emily is talking up a storm! It's like the vocabulary button got turned on and it won't turn off! She's telling me right now to "Turn this off!" I think she wants me to get off the computer now. But before I do, I just have one funny story. She woke up a couple mornings ago telling me, "Kicka schockabaw!" I said, "You want to kick a soccerball?" "Yeah!" I guess she was dreaming about soccer! And then yesterday she was asking for "canny cone". I asked, "Candy corn?" "Yeah!" Then she marched around the coffee table chanting, "Canny cone! Canny cone!" The only place she has learned about candy corn is in a book that I haven't read to her in a while. So who knows where she gets this stuff! It must be in her blood! So of course, I had Rob make a stop at the store for some canny cone on his way home from work. Yummy!

I Felt It!!!

I had my hand on my tummy this morning, trying to feel Little One moving from outside my belly. I FELT IT!!! And wow, it was strong! It's weird that I couldn't feel it yesterday and today I can. And it surprised me how strong the thumps felt on my hand! I just love this little person!

Emily's Owie

Emily got one of Rob's razors yesterday and sliced a little chunk off her thumb, on the inside right in the bend. Ouch!!! She's okay, minor blood loss and a stained shirt. But it did require a bandaid. When Emily wears a bandaid, it doesn't stay on for long. She messes with it and it usually ends up losing it's sticky. So...

I wrapped her up good!

She babied her hand the rest of the day and only used it to transport Cheetos. See the Cheeto residue? And look at this face! So pitiful!
The bandage is off now. I took it off during her nap to air out. I was surprised she didn't want it back on after she woke up. She actually is refusing a bandaid now. I'll slip one on her when she goes to sleep!

In other news, the baby is REALLY moving now! I still can't feel it outside, but inside it's a disco! I potty frequently, too. I believe this little bean is using my bladder as a trampoline! Fun times! I can't wait to find out if we're having a boy or a girl. I saw The Cutest little girl shoes at the mall today. Argh, too CUTE!!!

Sentences, Questions and an Update

Emily has really begun to talk. Most of what she says I understand. Most of what she says only I understand. Here are some examples of things she's saying now:

• "I cate oopoo!" = I can't open.
• "I cate reach!" = I can't reach.
• "Yick a pink ha-pop!" = I want to lick a pink lollipop.
• "Pink schoop!" = pink bathing suit.
• "Bobby bee!!!" = bumble bee

Oh, and she really needs to work on her 'r' sounds in words. Eek, when she says "shirt" it doesn't really sound like shirt. It sounds like, well, you know. And the other day she was wearing a shirt that had a monkey on it. And of course, I kept asking her all day long what kind of shirt she was wearing. "Monkey sh--!" All she needs now is a bull shirt and a horse shirt and we're set. TOTALLY KIDDING!!! But I might get her a dog shirt.

And while we're in the car, she sees lots of things that she doesn't know what they are. Or at least she'll claim to not know what they are. Here is a scenario of me and Em in the car:

• Em: "What's that?!?"
• me: "What do you see?"
• Em: "I know!" Which really means I don't know, but she leaves out the 'don't'.
• me: "Is it a flag?"
• Em: "Nooooo..."
• me: "Is it a balloon?"
• Em: "Nooooo..."
• me: "Is it an airplane?"
• Em: "Nooooo..."
• me: "Is it a train?"
• Em: "Nooooo..."
• me: "Well, what is it?"
• Em: "I know!"
• me: "Is it a car?"
• Em: "Yep. A blue car!"
• me: *sigh* "Why didn't you say so in the first place?"
• Em: "I know."

She's introducing herself to other kids at fast food play areas. She'll point to her shirt and say, "Emmm-ME!" She usually just gets funny looks from the other kids. The other kids love her and hug her and play with her. I need to get her into some sort of preschool or something so she can interact more with kids her age.

And then an update on the pregnancy! I have been feeling better lately, except I'm super tired and I keep getting migraines. But, at least I don't feel like throwing up all the time. I have gained...drumroll please...a pound. One pound. I feel like I've gained twenty. Literally. My clothes don't quite fit anymore. I have a pair of capri pants that have a tie to help keep them up. Well, I don't have to tie them anymore. Poo.

Oh, and I've been feeling movement! It's so great! At first it was just when I'd wear jeans and sit at the computer, but now it's whenever. So sweet! Bump, I just felt him/her move!

By the way, only 22 days left to vote on what I'm having! It looks like boy votes are in the lead. We find out for sure on July 8th!

Trip to Houston

This weekend we went down to Houston to meet with some online friends. We first went to College Station where my friend Heather and her family lives. They were kind enough to let us stay with them instead of getting a hotel room in Houston.

Emily and Heather's daughter Cora had a great time together. Cora is the same age as Emily.
On our way to Houston, we crammed in the van and watched Little Mermaid (twice).

This is Q's family. I took their photos. They are such a sweet and cute family. They live in California and were visiting family in Houston. I hope that I get to meet up with them again (hopefully soon!)

Postponing the Privacy Thingy

I think I'll wait to make this blog private. My mom is sort of "Login" retarded and I want her to be able to see the blog (love ya, Mom). I'll moderate the comments for a while and see how it goes.

Meanwhile, we have a special guest at our house this week. It's a bear named Scout. I have this really neat group of online friends who I met through a pregnancy site when I was pregnant with Emily. A small group of us still talk and actually meet up every once in a while. We decided it would be fun to have a group mascot and then send this mascot from mom to mom across the world. Scout originated in Chile. Well, actually, she was made in Austrailia, but a mom in Chile bought her and started the chain going. Scout has been to Canada and several states in America. This week she's with us and she's going to travel down to Houston with us this weekend to meet up with some of my online friends.

Emily adores Scout and drags her around by her paw. They have had fun at the park and shopping at the mall. I'm excited for this weekend to share Scout with some of the other moms and kids.
