Creepy...

Okay, someone creepy commented on Emily's photos. I'm thinking I'll have to go private on my blog. If you want to be included, please leave a comment with your email. I'm moderating the comments so no one will see your email. This goes into effect June 6th. Ick.

If you're a lurker and not a stalker, send me your email and a link to your blog and I'll check you out and invite you. I hate this!

Bubbles, Bubbles, Everywhere!!!

On Memorial Day, we went over to Gramma and Grampa Hill's for dinner and bubbles. They have a little pool that Emily absolutely loves! I was afraid she'd have forgotten about swimming and be scared of the water. But no! She was ready to GO!
Gramma has a cool bubble machine that blows bubbles for as long as it has juice (and batteries). Let me tell you, it saves your pucker from blowing all those bubbles!
Emily's skin was wet, so the bubbles stuck to her.

I love her expression here. The wind was blowing hard.

2008 Hayes Family Reunion!

Last weekend we had the second annual Hayes Family Reunion! It was so much fun! We went up to Beavers Bend, Oklahoma and stayed in a couple of cabins there.
Eric enjoyed "smoking" the pretzels... Corgan, sporting a really big scab on his forehead, loved eating the ice from the ice chests.
Carter is always ready with a smile!
Emily was having hair issues.
I'm not sure why Caiden gave me this look. I think I was in trouble for something.
It was Jason's 30th birthday and that first night we honored him with a roast. SO FUN!!! Right, Jason?
He blew out his candles with a whoopee cushion. That was definitely his piece of cake.
Saturday we went on a train ride. The skies tried to rain on us. Man, it was muggy!
Nick was very interested in the fire that was built for roasting marshmallows.
I absolutely love my family.
Grumpa, Nana and their grandkids.

Apology

I realize how petty I sounded this weekend when I was venting my frustrations about Emily and her tantrums. I just want everyone to know that I don't hate her, just her attitude. You would never know from this sweet photo that she is very opinionated, strong willed, and really good at being two. So, I just wanted to apologize for complaining and pouting and getting frustrated this weekend. Blame in on hormones...yeah.

Found a Peanut!

In my belly! I just wanted to officially announce that we are expecting another baby! I'm due November 20th, so this should be a LONG summer. We'll find out July 8th if it's a boy or a girl. Any predictions?
Oh, and there's only one baby in there. I asked them to check. I've had worse nausea this time around and I've started showing a lot sooner. But there's only one!

Camp Nana & Grumpa

Emily and I are up here at Nana and Grumpa's. We are having a great time! We've been spending a lot of time out in their new screened-in porch! The weather has been wonderful and the evenings have been spent out there.
Grandma Brown brought over a pretty rose from their front yard. It smells SO GOOD!!! I have been sticking my nose in it to get a deep wiff and now my allergies are acting up.
Nana bought some bubbles for Emily and Emily thought they were delicious! As Nana would blow the bubbles, Emily would try to catch them in her mouth. She didn't think they tasted bad at all!

Some Stuff...

Here's some random stuff about Emily:

1. Chalk is pronounced "chick".
2. Shirt is pronounced...well...without the 'r'.
3. She asks for cake all day long. We don't have cake. We never have cake. Unless it's her birthday. It's not her birthday.
4. When she gets an owie, she MUST have a bandaid to make it all better. The other day she got something in her eye and she insisted on a bandaid. She was upset for a bit when she didn't get one. And then yesterday she had a bit of chalk on her big toe and she asked for a bandaid.
5. She likes to fake fall. She'll be walking along and then all of a sudden she is flat-out on the floor. She appreciates it when you ask her if she's okay. Her response usually is "I nuh." Which I'm guessing means "I'm okay".
6. Rake is pronounced "rick". There is a book that has a rake in it and she'll go to that page and say, "Rick," and then scratch the page with her hand in a raking motion. Makes me think of catching The Raker...
7. Emily: "Mess! Mess!" Me: "Did you make a mess?" Emily: "No." But she'll lead me right to her mess and point and say, "Mess!" Sometimes she'll help me clean up her mess.
8. Lollipop is pronounced "Hah pop." She loves her some hah pops.
9. Thank you is pronounced "Git tee." I don't know why. I try to get her to say it right. But at least she says it, in her own way.
10. She loves to brush her teeth! Yay!
11. We're still working on her saying all the letters of the alphabet. She still says "Iggy" at letters she doesn't want to say. She doesn't want to say F, G, V, and W. The others she will say.
12. She doesn't want to say her numbers either. She now counts like this: "Two, five, two, five, two, five." At least she's added another number in there. It used to be "Two, two, two..."
13. Five is pronounced "By".
14. When Emily sees a picture of herself, she proudly says, "You!" If you ask her who she is, she is you.
15. If you tell her not to touch something, the next time she sees it she'll say, "No no touch."
16. One of her first sentences: "Oh gosh! Wow! BOOKS!" when we went to a bookstore.
17. When I fix dinner, she wants to watch/help, so she'll say, "I sit," and then she'll pull up a chair next to where I'm working. This morning while making her eggs, she was standing on her chair watching me cook and she stole a cookie that was sitting on a cooling rack from last night. Mmm, eggs and cookies for breakfast!
18. If she can't find something, she'll wander the house saying, "Weh yah youuuu?" or "Wheddigo?"
19. When she finds what she's looking for, she says, "Theh-ee yeh!"
20. She loves to fake laugh. If you're laughing at something funny, she'll join in, even though she has no idea what you're laughing at.

Oh, I have a funny story! The other day we were laying down for a late nap. It'd been several hours since I had eaten and I was a little hungry. All was quiet, we were snuggled together, and then my tummy growled. Emily sat up and said, "What's that?" I started giggling and then she said, "Momma, poopoo!" and then she lifted the covers up to look for, I'm guessing, the poopoo. I died laughing! It took us a while to get settled back down to sleep.

You Can Write on Cats With Chalk

Yesterday Emily and I went outside to draw on the patio with some sidewalk chalk she got for her birthday. She was very excited to be able to draw on the ground. She'd draw and then lay down on it.
Look how colorful her jeans ended up!

She tried drawing on the house and on her rollercoaster, but I told her she could only draw on the ground. She wandered off and found the cat enjoying some sunshine and she started to draw on her.
You can see the blue streak just between her back hips.
I told Emily she shouldn't draw on the cat--she probably doesn't like to be drawn on. Then Emily said, "Ear!" and grabbed Chloe's ear and began drawing on it. Did the cat move? No.
I think she actually enjoyed it! Does this look like an annoyed cat?
She looks very content to me. I told her she was a big faker and that she truly liked Emily and she wished Emily would mess with her all the time. She just gave me this look and then for show, ran away from Emily the next time she came close to her. Silly cat.
