We found out today that our baby is a girl! We're so happy! We're naming her Emily Christine. We can't wait until she gets here in April!
I've posted pictures in my photo album.

We're both feeling Little Bit!
Rob got to feel the baby move the other day. He put his hand on my stomach and felt a little push back. He was very excited to be able to feel what I've been feeling. Little Bit moves a lot now, especially after I've eaten something.
I wonder what would happen if I ate peanut butter and sardines now? I'm sure I'd get punished by Little Bit. Maybe if I added chocolate...

Feeling Flutters!
I started feeling flutters on Sunday. I wasn't sure if what I was feeling was actually the baby or if I was just feeling me. I was laying down and I felt the flutters three separate times. Then I laid really still and slowed my breathing down so I could concentrate...and then I fell asleep.
I felt some movement yesterday that I know was the baby. I had eaten chips and salsa for lunch and afterwards the baby was jumping around. I don't know if the baby really liked or really hated the salsa, but there was something going on in there! It was neat, though. I know it was the baby moving this time and not just my imagination. So COOL!

I'm so in love!
I love this baby so much already! I have listened to the recording of the heart beat like twenty times and I never get tired of it. I don't really have the words to explain how I feel except that I love this kid and I can't wait to finally call it by its name. I don't like calling it "it" and "him/her" and "he/she." Rob and I have been calling the baby "Little Bit" because that's what it is, just a little bit.

16 Week Visit
Today I had my 16 week visit with my OB. It went great! We got to hear the baby's heart beating! The heart rate was 148. We have posted a link so you can hear it, too. I am so excited I can't stand it!!! I go back on November 22nd to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl.

Sneezing!
I have been sneezing a lot lately. And I'm not talking about dainty, feminine sneezes. I'm talking about Dad sneezes. You know, gut-wrenching, wet sneezes (AAA-CCHHOOOO...splat). I try to hold them in, but sometimes when I do that it pulls on my stomach, so I have to let it all hang out. It makes me laugh because we used to make fun of Dad because of his wet sneezes and now I'm doing it. (Sorry, Dad!)

Dreams
I've been having some dreams about my baby lately. Sometimes I dream the baby is a boy and sometimes I dream it's a girl. I don't know what this means. Last night's dream I had a boy. I never dream about the labor or delivery. The baby is just here. Weird.

12 Week Dr. Visit
I went to the doctor last week for another ultrasound. The doctor did what's called a nuchal translucency, a scan to check for my chances of having a Down's Syndrom baby. I posted a picture of the ultrasound.
During the scan he was trying to get the baby in a certain position and so he would jiggle the baby around with the ultrasound wand. It was funny to see the baby bouncing around. I got the giggles during the scan and the baby was just going everywhere. It was funny. He/she was moving around a lot. I don't think it liked being bounced around.
We saw the baby's nose; it looks big! Mom says that I'd better have a boy if it's going to have a nose like that.
Everything is going well with the pregnancy. I still have all-day sickness and I'm tired a lot. The doctor says that should last about another couple of weeks and then I'll feel better. I'm starting to show; I wore a pair of overalls last night and you could really see my little pooch. It was neat.

The Hurricane
Well, we've gotton our 72-hour kit ready. It took a hurricane coming our way to get us to get it ready. How sad is that? We should have already had it ready because we've been told all along to have it ready.
I was talking to my friend Randy yesterday and he said he'd prefer an earthquake to a hurricane or a tornado (He's from California). There's nothing to dread, it's over with and then you clean up. I told him I like to know what's coming so I can get ready for it. We have the ability to know when storms are coming so we can get our shoes on and hide in the closet with our loved ones.

Gender Prediction
Okay, everybody! What do you think I'm having? I felt like I was having a boy early on, but now I'm getting wishy-washy. I keep thinking, "What if I feel I'm having a boy and then I have a girl? What kind of mom am I?"
At our last sonogram the tech said the heart rate was 165. I asked her if that meant I was having a girl and she said that all of that stuff has been disproven. The heart rate could have been affected by my Dr. Pepper habit. I don't know. What do you guys think? Just click on the "Add a comment" link below and post your predictions. Will there be any bets?

"P" Brain!
I have "P" Brain (Pregnancy Brain)! I forget stuff all the time. If I didn't have Rob to remember stuff for me, I'd forget a lot more! I don't know if it's the hormones or if I just can't think of anything else. I'm sure it'll get better, right?

10 weeks along
I went to the doctor today for another ultrasound. The baby is doing well. In fact, he/she waved! It was really neat. We could see the heart beating, the arm and leg buds, the spine, and the umbilical cord. We could actually see the blood flowing to and from the baby. Amazing!
I go again for another ultrasound in two weeks. I'll add those pictures to my photo album.
