Playing with Cars

I caught a special moment between father and daughter this morning. Emily loves playing with her daddy. He loves playing with her. This morning she handed him one of her cars and they began playing cars together. So cute.

Oh, and earlier, just after her first morning milk, she stretched, tooted, said, "Uh oh!" and turned and looked for her dad. Yeah, we know who does the tooting in our house, huh? Daddy!

Best Buds

Elizabeth and Emily are best buds. Emily was feeling cranky yesterday and Elizabeth kept patting her and giving her kisses. It was so sweet! They play really well together. They share their sippy cups with each other, too. Elizabeth showed Emily how to climb on the kitchen chairs and play with the magnets on the fridge. Emily tried to teach Elizabeth how to say "peaches" but it came out sounding like "badges" and Elizabeth apparently had no stinking badges. They're cute together!

There It Is!!!

After a bit of searching, Emily found her belly button.

Dah Gah!

"Dah gah" is Emily's word for help. I'm pretty sure that's what she's asking. Every time she needs me to take a lid off something, put something together, open a package of fruit chews, she says, "Dah gah?" So, I'll dah gah.

Earlier, she brought me her stocking cap and asked me to dah gah, so I put it on her head and she kept it on! I captured a couple of pictures before she decided she was done.

Oh, and she also said "peaches" today. As well as "thank you". We're still working on "please" and "Momma, you're freakin' hilarious."

Family

We had a great time at the cabin and at Turner Falls. We missed Jason and Dad. Hopefully the next time we do the cabin thing, everyone will get to go!

The Reason...

This is why I haven't updated the blog the past couple of days.
I've been researching and test driving cars! It was fun, but I'm glad we're done with that! And go figure, I left Emily's carseat in Rob's car (my old car) so I can't go anywhere today.

Update: It's a 2008 Ford Escape.

And by the way, Happy Mother's Day! I tell ya, I'm enjoying this motherhood thing. It's a hoot. Except in the middle of the night. Then it's not so much a hoot. But the smiles and kisses and hugs and laughs and chatter all make up for it.

Action Shot

Dad got a picture of me running for a good shot. That was just before I got wet. I didn't get too wet--just enough to be annoying. I was trying to get a good shot of the waves hitting a rock and I misjudged the depth of the water and I ended up mid-calf deep in surf.

Straw + Lemonade = Yummy!

I went to Chick-Fil-A yesterday and got Emily a lemonade. She LOVES it! Especially since she can drink it through a straw.

Behind the Scenes

These are some pretty little flowers in Aunt Sharon's backyard. They were just so cute and I couldn't resist capturing their cuteness.

Wanna know I how got the shot? I'll tell you, it took lots of skillz. Getting in the perfect position to capture the little happy flowers was very difficult. Especially since I was wearing a white shirt. Sometimes you've just gotta get dirty to get the right shot. Dad took this picture of me taking that picture. Kinda neat, huh?

Emily got into the fireplace the other day. Just when you think you've think you've childproofed your house... Sheesh.

My New 'Do

I got my hair cut today. I love it. I went to Kelly's hair guy, Miguel. He's good! He was very fast with his cutting tools. Hair was flying all over the place! But he seemed to know what he was doing.

Like my shirt? I got it at Bodega Bay. It has a crab on it and it says, "I Pinch." I think it's cute.

The Ocean

These were taken at Bodega Bay. As we drove up to park the car, we got a spectacular view of the ocean! Mom made a comment about how big it is. It is big! It's like we forgot about just how massive it is. It was awesome!

Haunted House

This really isn't a haunted house. It's really a nice old house that has creaky floors and moaning beams. It doesn't have ghosts that roam the halls and it doesn't have vampire bats that bite your neck. Right?

When we were kids, we would spend summers at the Fait's house. Fun times, let me tell you! One summer we decided there was a treasure hidden in the stairs. I have memories of kicking each step to listen for a hollow step that held the treasure. We never found it.

I was told that there were vampire bats in the tower, so at night, we would wear blankets around our necks in order to prevent our necks from being bitten.

One time we put our cousin in a box and pushed her down the stairs. Remember that, Marjie? If you do, Michael did it. If you don't remember, well, maybe you have memory loss from the concussion.
