It took me a long time to get Emily down for her nap this afternoon. I'd hold her until she'd fall asleep and then I'd try to put her down and she'd wake up. Then she'd wet her diaper. Then she was hungry. Then she'd fall asleep and I'd lay her down and the whole cycle would begin again. So, this time I held her until she was asleep and then I laid down with her on my chest. She woke up. This time she was MAD! When Emily gets mad she arches her back and wails. Well, with her on my chest it looked like a swan dive pose: arched back, chest up, head up, arms out, toes pointed. It was a beautiful dive, but she would have scored higher had her toes been pointed and not wiggling. What's funny is she would cry, take a breath and her head would get lower, cry, take a breath, head get lower until finally it came to rest on my shoulder and she was fast asleep. Weird child.

Ahhh, success!

This isn't her swan dive pose, but this is what she looks like when she's mad.
This evening we're going to meet Scott Biggs and his family for dinner. I think Rudy Mendoza and his family and Zack Mendoza are going to be there as well. It's been a long time since I've seen them; I wonder if they'll remember me. We're going to Chic-Fil-A. YUM.

Awwwww, isn't she CUTE!!! In the top picture, she looks so innocent. In the bottom one....well, you're doing it wrong! She wants it HER way...that's one of the first things you learn when you're a parent. I think maybe she wants her Nana.
OK..so i'm not alone...you have one of those babies too. Join the club! To this day Evan still acts like that, I have to just let him cry himself to sleep a lot, but I make sure he's fed, changed and burped. And once they fall asleep...they do look innocent (in their own evil kind of way) LOL just kiddin. It's worth it though, they are just so precious!
