Nephews

Caiden loves to show all his teeth when he grins!
Corgan has his momma's eyes. And lips!
I melt in Eric's brown eyes...
And I get lost in Carter's dimples.
I just loves Nick's hair now! So grown up. He's getting tall! Watch out, Mom!

I didn't make Nick's photo black and white because I loved the rosiness (is that a word?) of his cheeks. He's so much like his dad that way.

"I Dove You"**

Yesterday, Emily said she doves me! And then she ran up to me and hugged me and held on for a very long time. It was wonderful!

**Upon further discussion with Rob, we decided that she really said "I yuh you" instead of "I dove you." Either way, freakin' cute!

Blue, Pooh, and Moo

Sometimes when it's Emily's bedtime, she'll grab anything and everything she can on her way to bed, such as a book, a toy, a shoe, anything. The past couple of nights she has grabbed her baby Blue (a small version of Blue the dog), her Winnie the Pooh backpack, and a toy cow. Now, this toy cow is not soft nor cuddley. It's a hard figurine of a cow. But she has to have it! This has gone on for several nights now. And if one of the three is missing, she asks, "Pooh?" or "Boo?" or "Moo?" See, she's a poet and didn't know it.

Birthday Partay!

It was a beautiful day for a party! We had a good turnout - thank you everyone that came! Emily had fun opening presents!

The cupcakes were yummy, as you can see:
Poor thing was so tuckered out!

Roller Coaster Adventures!

My little speed demon...

...and her cute, dirty face...
See, roller coasters aren't just for riding, you know. Practice balancing, like this:

She needs more practice. I mean, obviously her knees were bent. Sheesh.

Easter Sunday

I totally forgot to post this yesterday. Oh well, here they are today!

Emily and her cousin Cadence had a blast hunting Easter eggs in the front yard. As soon as the door was opened, out they came and the hunt was on!

I love how Cadence is checking out Emily's basket...

Gramma had this cool chicken toy that when you squeezed it, a bubble sort of thingy came out of its butt that resembled an egg. Emily loved it! It was kind of gross.

Emily Was Here

I found this last week on the livingroom window. I don't know how long it's been there. I honestly don't remember her having seriously grubby hands in order to leave a mark like this. I wonder what she got in to. I'm very curious now. I suppose I could scrape a sample off the window and taste it. But that would be gross. I could send CSI over to process it. But then it would take forever to get the results back. I think I'll just leave it there. Forever.

Easter, one day early

The Easter Bunny arrived just before naptime was over on Saturday afternoon. The E.B. was very understanding when we notified him that Daddy would not be home on Sunday morning to see the look on Emily's face when she first would see her Easter basket. The kind Bunny took time from his busy schedule to stop by just before Ms. Em woke from her afternoon beauty rest.

Thank you, Easter Bunny, for your kindness!
I'll post some shots of the Easter egg hunt from Sunday at Grandma and Grandpa Hill's house tomorrow.

Park!

Yesterday was a pretty day and we've been cooped up in the house with colds and coughs, so we ventured out and went to the park. We hadn't been to this park yet. It's the one by the community pool. It had a fun zig-zag slide and a neat rock climbing thingy.

Recycled Dress

Emily is wearing last year's Easter dress. I don't have to buy her a new one. But I probably will anyway, because I've had my eye on this really cute blue and white polka-dotted dress for several weeks.

Roller Coaster!

Emily's grandma brought over a roller coaster from her house the other day. Emily has no fear when it comes to this thing. She hops right on and waits patiently until you push her down the ramp.

I can't tell if she likes it or not... ;)

Disconnected

Our phones don't work. We believe it's the line, not the actual phones. So we haven't actually received any phone calls in like a week. It's eerily quiet.

Rob built me a new computer. We're having problems with some of the things (I don't know what really, it's all Greek to me) and I don't have email, except for my yahoo account. chill102502@yahoo.com

So now I feel very disconnected. At least I have the internet. Whew!

Snow Adventures!

It snowed yesterday! Big, huge flakes! Emily was very impressed. She kept signing "snow" and making a swooshing sound. She wanted to go outside, but I was reluctant. It was cold, dangit! But then I looked at Emily, looking so sad as she watched out the window at the big flakes falling. So sad, huh? So, we got on our gear and ventured outside. Emily didn't know what to do at first. She just stood there. I had to nudge her to go out the door.

She didn't quite know what to think. She looked back at me as if to say, "Wow, what's going on?"
Then she made some tracks in the snow. I showed her how to make a snowball and eat it. She LOVED eating snow. (In fact, we ate leftover snow today!)I love this photo. She's trying to figure out where the snow is coming from.
I showed her how to catch snow on her tongue.
"Hellooo." Then Daddy came home and I got to go inside and watch from the door. That's how this momma rolls.
The mittens were probably a bit too small, but they kept her fingers warm. But she acted like they made her paralyzed from the elbow down.
Don't you just love her boots?
